‘Leicester City players a disgrace…criminal….that’s for Ormondroyd and ‘93’: Portsmouth faithful react
Pompey fans had plenty to say about yesterday’s events at Fratton Park - with many having empathy for their opposites after the lack of desire showed by their opponents. Others, however, remember the Foxes’ 1993 play-off win through an offside Ian Ormondroyd goal. Here’s a selection of views from X, formerly Twitter.
I would be extremely peeved if I was a #LeicesterCity fan tonight! Poor effort from a team fighting for their championship lives, offered absolutely nothing. @CraggydogPFC
Your players are a disgrace and lucky for #Pompey not one of them gave two hoots about your travelling support. @DanielE64141682
Those so called football players don't deserve those fans. I'm struggling to think of a better set of fans to visit Fratton Park all season. Maybe Sheffield Wednesday. All the best next season Leicester, your fans deserve you blowing League One apart. Pompey fan. @Luke313131
Currently in Portsmouth having watched yet another spineless performance. As I left the ground a Pompey fan said to me “where was the fight?” As for Rowett, get him gone now. He’s actually made us worse. @DavidGLeedham
As a Pompey fan, at the game, your players are a disgrace. You and your fellow fans deserve better. The senior management (not Rowett) need to go and pronto. Good luck on the rebuild. @therevba
Pompey fan here. After witnessing that I can 100% see why you are so angry at that team. They didn’t seem to care at all whatsoever. Utterly criminal @TomHaustead
Shows the difference in mentality between #pompey and Leicester. High wages and arrogance don't make a good team #lcfc @JamesSetters05
Surely #pompey fan has the clip if it was filmed of Choudhury kicking off after being subbed. That's for 93. Enjoy Crewe #lcfc @pompeyshaun1986
Julian Joachim Ian Ormondroyd Brian Little Gary Lineker Kasabian Roy Cropper That was for 1993 Enjoy Bromley, up the Blues #pompey @BenjoPompey
Love that! I was crying in the stands 12 years old when they knocked us out the playoffs. This is for 1993! Enjoy Bromley. Brilliant mate. @SamMcCarthy1981
"Dave Bassett, Micky Adams, Paul Dickov, Ian Ormondroyd... your boys took one hell of a beating!" #Pompey #LCFC @FrattonFaithful
