Bristol City closing in on managerial appointment following interest in Portsmouth boss John Mousinho

Pompey boss John Mousinho has been heavily linked with the Bristol City vacancy and the Robins are reportedly closing in on a new head coach.

Bristol City are reportedly closing in on a new managerial appointment following interest in Pompey boss John Mousinho.

According to The Telegraph’s John Percy, the Robins are set to land Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala, with discussions ongoing over a deal.

The report suggests the 43-year-old, who guided the Imps to the League One title last term, was offered the job and is expected to pen a three-year deal at Ashton Gate.

Despite being named as a ‘leading candidate’ early in the running, the Robins turned their attention elsewhere, with the likes of Bournemouth’s Tommy Elphick reportedly turning the job down.

Andy Cullen told The News the Blues have received no approach from any of their Championship rivals regarding the in-demand head coach.
