'Not a chance. Ridiculous move': Clear Portsmouth verdict on John Mousinho future amid new Stoke City links
Championship rivals Stoke City are interested in Pompey boss John Mousinho this summer.
The Fratton faithful have been discussing John Mousinho’s Fratton Park future as Stoke City enter frame.
News of fresh interest from the Staffordshire outfit comes amid growing uncertainty over the future of Mark Robins, who is under growing pressure following a 17th-placed finish.
Stoke, of course, are not the only side to have registered an interest in Mousinho this summer, with the Blues boss considered for the vacancy at Bristol City.
That ship, however, looks to have sailed, with the Robins reportedly targeting Bournemouth’s Tommy Elphick and Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala.
But the Potters’ interest in the Pompey boss hasn’t been met by the greatest of receptions by the Fratton faithful, who believe a switch to the bet365 Stadium would represent a ‘sideways move’ for the popular boss.
Here’s the best of the reaction from supporters on X, who have been discussing the in-demand head coach’s future.
Clear verdict on Stoke City interest in Pompey boss John Mousinho

@HeathMaxwell17: Not worried at all, not a chance he goes there.
@oaktowers: He’ll be daft to go there as there's been such a churn of managers there. Yes you'll get a decent backing, but grass isn't always greener.
@mark_duplock: Stoke is far below what Mous deserves.
@HarvMarksy: Be ridiculously embarrassing for us if this happens. Stadium empty, fans against them. Not done anything for years and gone through silly amounts of managers. Be a ridiculous move but will also say a lot about where he feels we’re going.
@BlueArmyAlex: Stoke are the opposite of us, all money no sense. Can’t see him succeeding there if Robins has struggled.
@olliejoell1606: I swear, if he leaves us for Stoke we’re done as a club.
@Joexunderwood: Bristol City you'd understand, but Stoke?
@jackcummins_9: Stoke have sacked a lot of good managers before him and their squads miles of it. Would be sideways at best and a terrible career move for Mous.
@SteveoLarham: If Mous has turned down Bristol City (more than once) I can't see why he'd go to Stoke. Isn't one I'm massively worried about. Just because there's interest on one side doesn't mean there's interest both sides.
@bdogjw: Stoke? Seriously? They’re hardly any more ambitious than Pompey. He’s an idiot if he chooses them over us.
@anything_pompey: Penultimate day of the season, ground emptied before players lap of appreciation, crowd flat for 90 mins, boo’d at HT & FT I’d be really disappointed if we lost him to Stoke. Bristol City would’ve been bad enough. But Stoke…
