'Forever grateful. Rest in peace gaffer': Former Portsmouth players pay emotional tribute to Kenny Jackett
Pompey are mourning the loss of former manager Kenny Jackett, who has died aged 64.
A number of former Pompey players have taken to social media to mourn the loss of Kenny Jackett.
The footballing world have come together to pay tribute to the ex-Millwall, Watford, Swansea City and Leyton Orient man, who has been described as a true gentlemen by fans, colleagues and people who knew him best.
Jackett enjoyed three-and-a-half-successful years at PO4 following his arrival in June 2017, where he succeeded Paul Cook in the Fratton Park hotseat.
The Welshman guided Pompey to eighth, fourth and fifth-place finishes in League One during his tenure, while also leading the Blues to Wembley in successive seasons.
Jackett was sacked in March 2021 following defeat to Salford City in the capital in the re-arranged EFL Trophy final, but departed with the highest win-rate percentage since the start of the 20th century at PO4.
As tributes continue to pour in, some of Jackett’s former Pompey troops have taken to social media to mourn his loss.
