'Never forget that great day out at Wembley. Desperately sad': Portsmouth faithful mourn Kenny Jackett

Former Pompey, Millwall, Wolves and Watford manager Kenny Jackett has died, aged 64.

Tributes have been pouring in following the passing of former Pompey manager Kenny Jackett.

The ex-Wolves, Watford and Millwall boss enjoyed three-and-a-half years at Fratton Park, guiding Pompey to eighth, fourth and fifth-placed finishes in League One.

Jackett also led the Blues to Wembley glory in March 2019 fending off Sunderland on penalties to lift the EFL Trophy in front of a packed crowd of 85,021 people.

The Welshman took Pompey to the national stadium the following season, although the final was delayed until March 2021 due to Covid.

A defeat to Salford City on penalties, however, would prove to be Jackett’s final game in charge at PO4. He departed the next day with a win-rate of 50.21 percent - the most of any Blues manager since Bob Blyth (1901-1904).

As a mark of respect, the Fratton faithful have taken to social media to pay tribute to the former Blues boss. Here’s what they have been saying.
