The big Portsmouth billing from Championship rivals as Sheffield United, Birmingham City and more have say
Pompey fans have turned up in their numbers at Fratton Park this season, despite the Blues sitting in the Championship relegation zone.
Championship fans on social media believe Fratton Park has the loudest home atmosphere in the division.
It’s been a difficult start to the campaign on the south coast, with John Mousinho’s men currently occupying a spot in the relegation zone.
The Blues have picked up just 17 points from their opening 18 games, winning three of their four matches at PO4.
Although Fratton Park hasn’t been the fortress of last term, supporters across the division are adamant the Blues’ home is one of the toughest places to visit.
FanHub Football asked the question: ‘Which Championship club has the loudest home atmosphere?’ And fans from a range of clubs across the second tier responded in their numbers - with one side standing out from the rest.
The loudest stadium in the Championship
Ollie Earl: I thought Fratton Park was class when I went.
Ben Buckingham: Any smaller compact stadium when that team is on fire, Pompey, QPR, Millwall.
Dan O’Hara: Fratton Park - 100%, based on consistent attendance. We came up with them (Oxford United fan) the big clubs have the reputations without the same loyal following. I’d like to see if they could fill a 35,000 stadium week on week, but purely based on my point above. PFC win.

Antony Davies: Pompey on their day, but admittedly the atmosphere has been down a bit lately with the crap we are watching
Tom Rowe: Pompey, Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Millwall when we’re up for it but definitely gone downhill last couple years. Looking forward to Wrexham.
Roly Matthews: Pompey. Not matter how bad it is right now, the fans always bring it.
Michael Southwell: For Consistency season after season no matter what league it has to be Portsmouth...!!
Bennetts Richard: Fratton Park with their nearly 100% sell out every league game.
Andy Butler: Struggling to see past Pompey, christ, if they had a season like Coventry are having you'd need more defenders!!!! My own Sheffield United have their moments but I'd say 90% of clubs atmospheres are pretty muted these days, certainly compared to the 1970's and 80's.
Andy MacDonald: Pompey by far the best.
Arran Hegenbarth: Sheffield Wed loudest maybe Middlesborough, Birmingham fan here, St Andrews can turn on the flip of a coin from a noisy carnival to a library all on diff match days . Best atmosphere all game Fratton Park, Portsmouth. Lots of good atmospheres in the Championship if you look at the teams.
