Portsmouth rivals eyeing ambitious double Championship raid as Southampton land £6m Bayern Munich man
The latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s Championship rivals.
Anticipation is growing ahead of the transfer window, with Pompey expected to be busy throughout the summer.
John Mousinho is targeting plenty of additions ahead of the new season as they look to progress in the Championship next term.
Ten players, including the likes of Aribim Pepple, Luke Graham and Calum Adamson, have all been linked with a move to Fratton Park in the coming months.
While incomings are expected, Pompey are also bracing for a number of outgoings as the head coach looks to trim his squad.
And it’s not just Pompey who are preparing for plenty of business this summer, but clubs across the Championship are looking to bolster their ranks.
Gossip and speculation continues to do the rounds involving the Blues’ rivals, with 10 days to go until the market opens its doors.
Here are the latest transfer headlines from across the second-tier.
West Ham preparing double raid
West Ham are bracing for life back in the Championship following their Premier League relegation.
It’s expected to be a summer of transition at the London Stadium, with a number of Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team squad set to depart.
But the Hammers already have a number of potential players on their radar as they plot an instant return to the top flight.
The Athletic have claimed West Ham are eyeing a double Championship raid, with Sheffield United’s Sydie Peck and Cardiff City’s Dylan Lawlor topping their transfer shopping list.
Peck is believed to be a priority at the London Stadium this summer as Espirito Santo looks to bolster his engine room.
The report suggests Pompey’s new second-tier rivals have been monitoring the 21-year-old since January but are now readying a swoop in the upcoming window.
The England youth international still has two years to run on his current Bramall Lane terms, with the Blades looking to hold firm over any potential bids.
West Ham’s recruitment drive isn’t ending there either, with the same report suggesting the east London side are tracking Cardiff’s Lawlor.
The 20-year-old played a key role in the Bluebirds’ League One promotion-winning campaign last season, featuring 32 times in the Welsh capital.
It remains to be seen whether Brian Barry-Murphy’s men will cash in this summer, with the defender’s current deal running until 2028.
Southampton secure Bayern Munich man

Southampton have confirmed the signing of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz.
The Blues’ arch-rivals have kick-started their summer business by securing the Israel international on a permanent basis following a successful last stint last term.
The 25-year-old has penned a four-year deal at St Mary’s, with Tonda Eckert’s side believed to have paid the Bundesliga champions £6.05m.
After arriving on loan in January, Peretz kept nine clean sheets in 26 appearances in all competitions and featured during the 1-1 south-coast derby draw at Fratton Park.
