The Blues are back in for pre-season testing this week as preparations for the new campaign continue to ramp up.

As transfer activity begins to heat up at Fratton Park, gossip and speculation is rife across the Championship as the rumour mill continues to turn.

Here are the latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s second-tier rivals.

Stoke City eye Championship raid

Stoke City are enjoying a frenetic start to the transfer window as Mark Robins looks to bolster his squad.

The Potters have already secured the signing of ex-Sheffield United loanee Djibril Soumare and former Pompey keeper Josh Griffiths during the opening weeks of the window.

But the recruitment drive at the bet365 Stadium isn’t letting up any time soon, with Robins’ side turning their attention to an in-demand Championship talent.

The Telegraph's John Percy has claimed versatile Swansea City operator Ethan Galbraith is a top target in Staffordshire this summer.

The report suggests the Potters are lining up an ambitious move for the 25-year-old, who also has interest from newly-relegated West Ham and Wrexham.

The Northern Ireland international, who can operate in midfield or at right-back, enjoyed a brilliant campaign at the Swansea.com Stadium, collecting three goals and two assists in 39 league outings, which also included a strike in the Swans’ 2-1 win at Fratton Park in March.

This has seen his stock rise once again and has been heavily tipped with a departure from South Wales this summer, two years after his £1.5m move from Leyton Orient.

Vitor Matos’ side finished nine points clear of Stoke in the Championship last term, securing an 11th-placed finish.

West Ham eye Leicester City talent

West Ham continue their search for new attacking talent, with Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu reportedly on their radar.

The Standard have claimed the Hammers have identified the 24-year-old as a potential option on the wing amid strong interest in Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.

The duo are being heavily linked with a move away from the London Stadium this summer following their relegation from the Premier League.

Fatawu has been touted with a departure from the King Power Stadium during the window, with the Foxes braced for League One football.

The forward, who is currently on World Cup duty for Ghana, enjoyed a brilliant individual campaign with Leicester, scoring nine goals and collecting eight assists in 44 Championship outings.

The young forward is now, though, believed to be on West Ham’s radar as they prepare for life back in the second tier.

Mousinho’s men begin the new campaign on the road against the Hammers, with a first trip to the London Stadium awaiting in the Carabao Cup first round.
