Former Portsmouth striker set for Championship exit as Premier League clubs circle £25m Birmingham City man
The latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s Championship rivals.
Although it’s been a quiet start to the summer window at Fratton Park, action is heating up on the transfer front for Pompey.
It has been claimed Pompey have placed a £1.3m bid for the holding midfielder, who impressed in Slovakia’s top flight last term.

Meanwhile, Luke Graham is another name believed to be high on the shopping list at Fratton Park after strong interest in January.
But a move for Gibson Yah is said to be off the cards during the window, with a move for the FC Volendam midfielder reported to have fallen through.
Elsewhere, gossip and speculation continues to do the rounds across the Championship as clubs continue their summer business.
Birmingham City face £25m battle
Birmingham City face a growing battle to keep hold of star striker Jay Stansfield during the window.
The 23-year-old, of course, completed the big-money move to St Andrews in 2024, making a £15m switch from Fulham.
Since then, the frontman spearheaded Chris Davies’ side to League One title success in his maiden campaign in the West Midlands, before netting 11 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions last term.
But interest is said to be growing in Stansfield as his standing in the game continues to grow.
Football Insider have reported Everton and Sunderland are tracking the ex-Exeter City talent along with Premier League new-boys Hull City and Ipswich.
The article claims the Blues are ‘relaxed’ about the attacker’s current situation, having tied him down to a long-term deal which runs until 2031.
The report states Birmingham have set a £25m valuation on Stansfield in a bid to fend off any potential suitors this summer.
Davies’ side are hoping to keep the Craven Cottage academy product long-term, with the St Andrews side earmarking the frontman to guide them to a Premier League return.
Stansfield appeared against Pompey on both occasions last term, but failed to net in either outing.
League One side enquire about ex-Pompey striker

Former Pompey forward Michael Smith is the subject of reported interest from League One.
Our sister paper, The Lancashire Evening Post, have claimed Preston North End have held initial talks with Mansfield Town regarding the 34-year-old.
The Stags are believed to have enquired over the striker’s services after a frustrating campaign at Deepdale.
Smith, who made the move to North End on a free transfer last summer, netted three goals in 37 appearances for Paul Heckingbottom’s men last term.
But the Fratton Park title winner’s future is under the spotlight as he enters the final 12 months of his two-year deal.
It has been reported that the Lilywhites would be open to sell the former Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday man in the window as Heckingbottom primes his squad for the Championship next season.
Smith, of course, claimed the League Two title with the Blues in 2017 and scored 10 goals in 37 outings during his 18-month stay.
