Pompey made a much-needed return to winning ways on Wednesday with a triumph over Sheffield United after their south-coast derby disappointment against Southampton.
Despite a scare against the 10-man Blades, Ebou Adams secured a last-minute winner to steal the points for John Mousinho’s men, with the 3-2 success lifting them into 16th.
There was flak from supporters, however, after their hugely-frustrating 1-0 defeat in last Sunday’s derby, which saw the Blues fail to overcome their bitter rivals, who played more than half the game with 10 men.
This prompted criticism towards Mousinho and his players from supporters, which subsequently saw the head coach launch an passionate response ahead of Wednesday’s game against Sheffield United.
