Luckless ex-Portsmouth, Bradford and Charlton man suffers yet another cruel career blow after Scottish set-back
The defender made just 14 appearances for the Blues after joining in January 2024
A former Pompey man’s career is in limbo once more after a latest devastating set-back.
Tom McIntyre joined Aberdeen on a short-term deal in February following his Fratton Park departure by mutual consent.

The move represented a priceless opportunity for the central defender to get his career back on track after a torrid two years on the south coast.
However, the 27-year-old’s season is now over after sustaining a hamstring injury against Dunfermline earlier this month.
The luckless McIntyre has made just five appearances for the Scottish Premiership side and, with new head coach Stephen Robinson at the helm, it is particularly cruel timing.
What’s more, with the former Reading man’s deal expiring in the summer, he could well have played his last match for the Dons - leaving him forced to seek another club at the end of the campaign.
Hopes of fresh start
McIntyre had hoped for a change of fortune, after his Pompey exit was announced on deadline day in the January transfer window.
With six months remaining on the Fratton Park deal he signed in January 2024, it was a mutually-agreed exit, having not even been given a squad number in the 2025-26 season.

He moved to Bradford on a season-long loan in September 2025, yet the League One club cancelled the arrangement at the halfway point and returned him to Fratton Park in January.
Pompey had again been open to letting McIntyre depart on loan once more, but, ultimately, he was effectively granted a free transfer - with Aberdeen swooping.
‘He has a good pedigree, and we believe he has the ability to make an impact for the club. He’s eager to prove himself in the Scottish Premiership.’
£50,000 signing for Pompey
McIntyre made just 14 appearances for Pompey after being signed from Reading in January 2024 for around £50,000 in a bid to bolster their League One promotion push.
He suffered a broken left ankle and red card on his debut against Northampton and, although that dismissal was later rescinded upon appeal, his Blues career never truly recovered.
After returning for the 2024-25 season, he was handed 10 successive starts in the centre of the Blues’ injury-hit defence.
However, following the disastrous 4-0 defeat at Derby in December 2024, followed by FA Cup elimination at Wycombe the following month, he was loaned out to Charlton for the second half of the campaign.
Now it remains to be seen whether he stays with the Dons beyond this season, having started five of their seven matches before his latest injury blow.
