The News to host January transfer window Q&A with Portsmouth writer Jordan Cross - and we want your questions
The Portsmouth News will host a January transfer window Q&A at the end of this week.
The halfway point of the January transfer window is fast approaching - but, to date, no new arrivals have been signed to bolster Pompey’s bid to retain their Championship status.
Head coach John Mousinho has always insisted up to six signings will be needed to help the Blues cope better with the threat of relegation. However, with injuries issues showing no sign of abating, thanks to the early withdrawals of Harvey Blair and Franco Umeh in Sunday’s FA Cup third-round defeat at the hands of Arsenal, who is to say that figure won’t increase before the window slams shut at 7pm on February 2?
Last week’s departure of Spurs loanee Minhyeok Yang was anticipated to kick-start a much-needed recruitment drive. Indeed, Mousinho is now down to the bare bones when it comes to attacking options.
Yet, this weekend’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday was always earmarked as the game where new faces to the squad might be introduced for the first time.
And with that key fixture now on the horizon, we thought this would be the ideal time to reach out to our readers to see what transfer issues they want addressed, what specifics they want clarity on, or what information they would seek so that they can be prepared for what the rest of the transfer window holds for the Blues.
To do that and to give News subscribers an in-depth update on the transfer front we will be hosting a Q&A with Pompey writer Jordan Cross on Friday - and we’d love to hear your questions.
How much is likely to be spent by Pompey? Will the Eisner’s make additional funds available? Which positions are a priority? Which fringe players could leave the club to bolster the transfer kitty? Why are the Blues yet to sign anyone? No matter the question, we’d love to hear from you.
