After a long summer break, Championship football is back at Fratton Park as Pompey kick-start the new season.
John Mousinho’s new-look side host QPR this afternoon - 3pm kick-off - with the head coach looking to begin the campaign on a winning note following a summer of transition.
Nine players have so far arrived at PO4 during the window, which includes the signings of Abu Kamara, Benjy Arthur and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
Ahead of this afternoon’s curtain raiser, we’ve taken a look at the early team and injury news from both camps as Pompey bid to kick-off the new season with maximum points.

9. Connor Ogilvie - Out
It remains uncertain when the left-back will return to the fold, with Mousinho admitting in his pre-match press conference that Ogilvie was still in pain after undergoing knee surgery last month. | Pro Sports Images

10. Justin Obikwu - Out
The striker is yet to feature for the Hoops since his January arrival from Coventry. Obikwu was initially ruled out with bone bruising, but did return to training on Monday. However, an appearance this afternoon seems unlikely given the length of his absence. | Getty Images

11. Harvey Blair - Out
Mousinho admitted this week that the Blues would entertain an exit for the 2024 arrival this summer. The winger is, though, still sidelined after picking up a hip issue in the warm up against Darmstadt a fortnight ago. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages

12. Glen Kamara - Doubt
Former Leeds and Rangers man could make his first appearance for the club following his loan switch from Rennes. The midfielder missed the Hoops' game against Millwall last week as he continued to build his fitness up having miss the majority of pre-season with the French outfit. | Getty Images
