Stunning clean sweep as outstanding Terry Devlin wins all 17 Portsmouth end-of-season awards
Northern Ireland international star dominates player of the season awards to cap brilliant campaign
Terry Devlin’s excellence has been recognised with The News/Sports Mail’s Pompey Player of the Season.
Remarkably, it means the outstanding Northern Ireland international has collected all 17 available seasonal awards for the 2025-26 campaign, as chosen by supporters and players.

Devlin hadn’t even started a league match this term until November’s visit of Wrexham, while a groin injury ruled him out of the last three games, including today’s finale against Birmingham.
However, his consistently superb performances at right-back earned him 57 per cent of the The News’ vote, thereby becoming the 48th recipient of the long-running accolade.
Supporter club clean sweep
It’s a decision which has been emphatically agreed with by 13 Pompey supporter groups, with the 22-year-old the unanimous choice across all, from Central Branch and Armed Forces to Stateside Pompey and Scandinavia.
Yet there’s more. The former Glentoran man was also named as Players’ Player of the Season, while his second goal against Charlton in February was chosen by fans as the Goal of the Season.

Certainly it’s unheard of for any player to enjoy a clean sweep of every available seasonal honour.
Colby Bishop claimed 16 in 2022-23, including the Players’ Player of the Season. Although Marlon Pack earned that campaign’s Goal of the Season for his Fratton Park strike against Exeter in January 2023.
However, team-mate Devlin has surpassed even that brilliant achievement, with 17 in total for a 2025-26 season which saw the Blues once again retain their Championship status.
The News/Sports Mail’s Player of the Season runner-up
Runner-up in The News/Sports Mail’s Player of the Season was Regan Poole in a two-horse race which saw the defender and Devlin total 93 per cent of the vote between them.
Poole had made 42 appearances before today’s Birmingham clash and shone with his battling performances and outstanding commitment to the Pompey cause.
Others who polled were Nicolas Schmid, Conor Chaplin, Connor Ogilvie, Zak Swanson and Adrian Segecic - yet none registered more than one vote.
As a consequence, third place will not be recognised in this year’s vote, also a rarity.
Overall, the awards were distributed as: The News/Sports Mail (Devlin), Players’ Player (Devlin), Goal of the Season (Devlin), End of Season Awards Dinner (Devlin), Chichester (Devlin), Central Branch (Devlin), Disabled Supporters Club (Devlin), South-West (Devlin), Clan Pompey (Devlin), Stateside Pompey (Devlin), Northern Blues (Devlin), London (Devlin), Armed Forces (Devlin), Isle of Wight (Devlin), South Wales (Devlin), Canada (Devlin) and Scandinavia (Devlin).
