Huge Portsmouth favourite reportedly transfer target for ambitious Sheffield Wednesday
The former Accrington man has scored 60 goals in four seasons at Fratton Park
Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a move for Pompey favourite Colby Bishop.
According to the Sheffield Star, the League One club are ‘eyeing’ signing the popular Blues striker to fire them to promotion.

Having secured new ownership, the Owls are overhauling their playing squad and have so far added former Bolton defender Ricardo Santos and Belgian full-back Jordi Liongola to their ranks.
Now they are reportedly interested in Bishop, whose Fratton Park future remains unclear with the Blues eager to strengthen their own striker options.
60 goals for Portsmouth
With 60 goals in 175 appearances since joining from Accrington in July 2022, the centre-forward has been a pivotal figure in re-establishing the club at Championship level.
However, the 29-year-old netted just three times in the league last season as his goal-scoring form deserted him, prompting Pompey to prioritise recruiting another striker this summer.

The Blues are prepared to pay a substantial fee to land a new attacker, with sporting director Rich Hughes having Almeria’s Marko Milovanovic in his sights, while there has also been interest in Plymouth’s Bim Pepple.
Inevitably, Bishop’s own standing with the Blues is under scrutiny, particularly after last term’s struggles when he was the hardest hit by Josh Murphy’s ongoing absence.
Contracted until the summer of 2028
Bishop is contracted until the summer of 2028, having signed a new three-and-a-half year deal in February 2025, ensuring there will be no cut-price deal should Pompey decide to cash in.
Considering his impressive goal record, having been the Blues’ leading scorer in three of his four seasons, it is inevitable there will be summer interest, particularly from League One level.
No player has scored more for Pompey in the 21st Century, while even when his goal touch deserted him last season, Bishop remained a starting regular, reflecting his vital all-round contributions.
John Mousinho’s men returned for pre-season on Thursday, starting with two days of testing, before full training kicks off on Monday.
And Bishop’s ongoing Fratton Park presence will come under the microscope as the Blues plot squad strengthening ahead of the 2026-27 season.
