Portsmouth duo suffer potential season-ending injuries in opening 15 minutes of game v Leicester
Pompey were forced to make two substitutions in the opening 15 minutes of their game against Leicester City
Pompey have suffered a double injury blow 15 minutes into their huge game against Leicester City at Fratton Park.
And there’s every chance that the two players to come off might have played their last games for the Blues this season.
Keshi Anderson, who was making his third start for Pompey following his free transfer arrival from Birmingham in January, had to come off on seven minutes with a hamstring injury. It’s the second time the 31-year-old winger has suffered such a injury, with the forward sitting out 10 gamse prior to his comeback against Norwich City on Good Friday.
He was replaced by Adrian Segecic with more than 80 minutes of the game against the Foxes to be played.
The Pompey medical team were then called upon eight minutes later - this time with recently-crowned player of the year Terry Devlin going down with a similar problem.
And just like Anderson, he was removed immediately, with no hope of completing the rest of the game.
Coming on in his place was Ibane Bowat, who went straight to left-back, with Jordan Williams moving out to the right.
The double development came after the Blues were able to name Josh Murphy in their match-day squad for the first time since before Christmas.
Joining him on the bench was influential midfielder Ebou Adams, who was back in the squad for the first time since before the international break.
More to follow following the end of today’s game v Leicester.
