Portsmouth closing in on Exeter's Lewis Ward on busy day of goalkeeping developments

Pompey are poised to complete the loan signing of Exeter goalkeeper Lewis Ward.

While they have today also run the rule over Huddersfield youngster Jacob Chapman in training.

With Alex Bass injured, the Blues have rookie Duncan Turnbull serving as a number two, with the American featuring in their last five squads.

However, Pompey have been weighing up finding a more experienced option.

However, Exeter stopper Ward is Jackett’s favoured loan choice and in line for a Fratton Park switch.

The 23-year-old has appeared 10 times for the League Two outfit this season, with 33 outings overall.
