The 2024/25 Championship season is just around the corner, bringing with it a fresh sense of optimism, anticipation and immense excitement.
Nobody knows quite what to expect at the start of a new Football League season and many teams in the division are starting the campaign with a number of fresh signings and in some cases even a brand new manager.
The Championship is notoriously difficult to predict and this was epitomised last season by Ipswich Town, who were able to finish above the likes of Leeds, Southampton and West Brom to secure back-to-back promotions.
There are still a number of weeks to go until the start of the new season and Portsmouth fans will be optimistic about getting a few new transfers over the line before their curtain raiser against Leeds United next month.
But based on each team’s activity so far, where can we expect Pompey to finish and who will wind up in the promotion and relegation places.
Here Portsmouth News has taken on the unenviable task of predicting the full Championship table based on the early stages of the transfer window.
