Pompey take on QPR at Loftus Road today, where they will be trying to avoid slipping into the Championship’s bottom three over the international break.

Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the starting line-up John Mousinho has named for today’s game against QPR at Loftus Road.

The Blues boss has made three changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Derby County on Monday night.

Earning recalls are central defender Conor Shaughnessy, who makes his first start since mid-January following injury. He replaces Zak Swanson in defence, with Connor Ogilvie reverting back to left-back for the hugely important game in west London.

Adrian Segecic and John Swift are also named in the starting XI as Mousinho once again looks for a winning formula in attack. They replace Gustavo Caballero and Conor Chaplin respectively, who drop to the bench, where Colby Bishop remains.

Pompey will need something from their latest trip to Loftus Road if they are to retain their place north of the Championship relegation zone. A much-needed win will surfice as we head into the break. However, anything less, and Pompey will need results elsewhere going their way.

What the table looks like at 5pm will make for interesting reading.

In the meantime, here’s what fans have been saying on X since the team for today’s game against the Rs was announced at 1.45pm.

@pfclowey: Feel for Swanson. Been one of our best players this season.

@CharlieFarnsba9: Blair on the bench worries me, personally he shouldn’t be anywhere near a Championship match today let alone a relegation battle, should be loaned out next season.

@Lrodders01: Caballero dropped & the Grandad back in defence are positives. No Bishop is concering in the 11.

@CharlieBen62848: Harsh on Swany that.

@capfc11: Personally, i would have rested Alli and put Caballero on the right and Segecic on the left.

@Tomeames4: Hopefully Brown turns up today. Monday looked toothless up front, even less than when we had Bishop and I thought it couldn't get any worse with him.

@j_pfc2: This is our best possible team. SOLID defence, top scorer back in the team, good options off the bench. 3 points #pompey.

@Pompeytucks: Glad Swift starts. Looks a better front line on the bench than starting. Just think it’s a total guess by Mousinho. Fingers it goes for us today. Up the blues.

@Mtpfc7: Segecic on the right. Will he ever learn?

@bonjovi1378: We are clearly going to lose this one. It doesn’t look promising at all. I hope I’m wrong. Only saving grace might be is qpr don’t have a lot to play for.

@kmf89mt6ht: The fact on our 38th match of the season we’re starting a striker with 3 goals in 28 appearances is damming.
