Two-hundred-and-seventy-two miles separate the cities of Portsmouth and Hull.
It’s a distance that is manageable when you’ve just seen your side win. However, it’s a God-awful trek if you’ve just watched your team concede three and lose yet again as your struggles at the wrong end of the table continue.
Unfortunately, it’s the latter situation that Pompey fans have had to cope with this weekend, after they witnessed their side suffer defeat against a side that finished below them in last season’s Championship.
So there’ll be plenty of supporters who will welcome the bright lights of Portsmouth on the horizon, when they do eventually make it down south again.
Pompey have two weeks before they can attempt to claw back some of the ground they’ve lost in recent weeks, with just one point accumulated since the last international break.
That means there’s plenty of time for reflection - something the fans will, no doubt, have been doing heading back down the road following the lunch-time kick-off.
And when John Mousinho and his troops do set aside time to contemplate on this latest defeat, they’ll do well to remember the 1,761 Pompey fans who made the effort to travel to Hull.
Here’s our salute to them, after another day when there’s few positives to take from a Blues match-day!
