Yet Jay Sadler’s team did themselves proud with a gutsy, battling display – and here are our Pompey Women player ratings...
9. Sophie Quirk - 9 - POTM
The winger has been one of Pompey's star performers this season - as she was last - and maintained those excellent standards against Southampton. A constant threat with her dribbling and tireless work-rate. Photo: Jason Brown
10. Emma Jones - 7
Got on the end of Nicole Barrett's free-kick to make it 1-1 in the first-half - and her 10th of another productive campaign. Always lively, always a threat and capable of popping up with a piece of magic. Photo: Jason Brown
11. Beth Lumsden - 6
Couldn't get into the game at times, particularly in the second half, but never goes hiding and always a willing worker. Remains a key player for the Blues. Photo: Jason Brown
