The Blues’ leading scorer took his tally to 13 in the 3-2 success over MK Dons at Fratton Park, with Reeco Hackett netting the other.
There were a number of good Pompey displays in the triumph over their League One rivals and here are our match ratings...
9. Sammy Silvera - 7
(Replaced by Terry Devlin on 79 mins) Operated in the number 10 role and one first-time right-footed cross almost crept in at the far post during the first half. Quick feet, loves to carry the ball and has a real energy about him. Interesting season ahead. Photo: Jason Brown
10. Josh Murphy - 8
(Replaced by Gavin Whyte on 79 mins) Has been one of the eye-catching performers during pre-season and this was another occasion. Grabbed a third-minute goal - his second of the summer - and caused constant problems down the left. Loves to hog the touchline and always eager to take a full-back on on the outside. 11. Kusini Yengi - 5
(Replaced by Christian Saydee on 79 mins) Can expect a run in the side in the absence of Bishop, but just couldn’t get involved against MK Dons. Held up the ball well on occasions and contributed in the build up to Murphy’s opener, yet far too much on the periphery. Photo: Jason Brown
