Pompey step up their preparations ahead of their 2026-27 campaign with their first pre-season friendly of the summer against Jermain Defoe’s Woking on Tuesday night.
The Blues have six friendlies lined up ahead of their season-opener against West Ham in the first round of the Carabao Cup (Saturday, August 8), with tonight’s run-out at the Kingfield Stadium providing fans with their first opportunity to potentially cast their eye over John Mousinho’s newest recruits
To date, the Fratton Park side have completed deals for three new arrivals, Odin Bailey, Eoin Kenny and Rocco Shein.
Both Bailey and Kenny can be expected to play some part against the Cardinals. It remains to be seen, though, if Shein features following his unveilling less than 24 hours ago from Norwegian outfit Fredrikstad.
There’s still plenty of time for Pompey to add to their trio of new signings between now and the close of the transfer window on Tuesday, September 1 (11pm).
There’s also plenty of time left for the Blues to make a greater impression on the betting market as fans up and down the country pick out their favourites for Championship promotion.
