Kenny Jackett expects Michael Eisner talks as Portsmouth owners visit

Kenny Jackett will next week meet with Pompey’s owners to plot the club’s future.

But the Blues boss insists transfer foundations have already been laid as the January window enters its final week.

Chairman Michael Eisner and other members of Pompey’s board are scheduled to be at Fratton Park for Barnsley’s FA Cup visit.

Their stay will also consist of attending the League One encounter with Sunderland, while Pompey have a midweek trip to Lincoln.

In addition, during their latest visit, Tornante are seeking to hold talks with authorities over ongoing plans to redevelop Fratton Park.

And Jackett also expects to sit down for discussions with Michael Eisner on team affairs.

Pompey’s boss said: ‘There are regular conference calls anyway and I am sure the board of directors are in even more regular contact.

‘I don’t think it will affect anything, phones do work in America! If there is something we need or are contemplating, we will ask and tell them, keeping them in the loop.

‘It’s not a situation where we wait until they come over to discuss this, that or the other. If something needs to be discussed, it is done anyway.

‘In terms of meeting them, they want to avoid our travelling days, for instance going up to Lincoln on Tuesday. So it might be Monday morning, or Thursday and Friday (next week).

‘They (the owners) have been very good, wanting to know what the thinking is, the clarity, how to work the budget to its maximum, plans for the future and people that are doing well now.

‘At the meeting there will be some slight planning, one or two contracts, they are things which are discussed on a regular basis.’

Michael Eisner returns to Fratton Park with the club seventh in League One and in the Leasing.com Trophy semi-finals.

Jackett added: ‘In terms of the season, it is all ahead of us, we don’t want it to fall away, we want it to keep going, it’s a competitive league and we have a chance.

‘We get our form right and it can be an exciting end to the year. I’m sure the owners feel exactly the same.’
