Well, there’s probably no-one better qualified – bar sporting director Rich Hughes, of course – to answer that particular question than head coach John Mousinho.
Over the past week The News has been quizzing the Blues boss to get an insight into what’s possible and what’s not.
It comes amid a background of injuries to midfielder Tom Lowery and forward Kusini Yengi, links to Chelsea youngster Tino Anjorin, speculation about Sean Raggett and Denver Hume’s respective futures and a summer that has already seen 13 new arrivals comes through the doors at Fratton Park.
So what’s the latest Mousinho has said about the above and other transfer talking points?
Here’s a breakdown of what he’s been saying as the clock ticks down towards deadline day.

5. Tino Anjorin rumours
Mousinho: ‘I’m not entirely sure where it has come from, we’ve had no further developments there in terms of what’s going to happen. Tino is an exciting player that we know a huge amount about, we have spoken about him previously. But, as far as we are concerned, we don’t really know where that came from. Interest isn’t necessarily finished, but I suppose we saw the story and it’s nothing from our end. There's still maybe a bit we can do in terms of the rest of the transfer window and if Tino is an option then I'm sure we’ll be able to explore it. I don’t think we can rule anything out at the moment. We’ll see how that pans out.’ Photo: Catherine Ivill

6. When can we expect to see some business?
Mousinho: ‘One of the good parts of the structure we have is the head of recruitment was here on Thursday to speak to Rich (Hughes) and we’re going to catch up. I think it will be a relatively quiet final week because we have done most of our work, but we are still obviously monitoring the situation. As we've been talking about over the past couple of weeks, we aren’t ruling anything out or in on that, but we are certainly not done. There might be something which happens late on, we can't really anticipate.’ Photo: Jason Brown

7. Depatures
Mousinho: ‘At the moment, we aren’t expecting to lose any of our squad. Apart from the obvious one in terms of possibly trying to find Denver something, there will be no outgoings, which means we are pretty content with our squad barring that final piece of the puzzle.' Photo: Jason Brown

8. Denver Hume
Mousinho: ‘We’re still looking for something for Denver. But he’s training really well and his attitude as been spot on, so hopefully both parties can come to a mutual understanding on that at some point. We’re just making sure that whatever comes in is right for Denver. Ultimately, the ball is in his court at the moment. If we get something and he wants to leave then we’ll not stand in his way.’ Photo: Jason Brown
