Here’s Jordan Cross’ Blues match ratings from the loss at Rodney Parade.
9. Ronan Curtis - 8
Back at home on the left where he ruthlessly exposed Newport’s first-half naivety with his hard running and quality finishing. Photo: National World
10. Dane Scarlett - 8
(Replaced by Michael Jacobs on 64 minutes): What a player Pompey have on their hands. Honesty in his hard running in tandem with quality and skill. Thank you Spurs! Photo: NationalWorld
11. Joe Pigott -5
An off-colour night for the Ipswich loanee. Quality effort hit the bar but should have buried a one-on-one and wasn’t at his most effective. Photo: Nationalworld
12. Kieron Freeman - 5
(Replaced Zak Swanson on 33 minutes): Would’ve thought he’d played his last game - and probably wishes that was the case after being part of this upset! Photo: National World
