'Great result... shame about dodgy penalty... looking good' - Portsmouth fans react to 4-1 win against Crewe
Pompey fans have taken to social media to celebrate a welcome 4-1 win against Crewe at Fratton Park.
A first-half double from Ronan Curtis, plus efforts from Tom Naylor and John Marquis after the break saw the Blues claim all three points on offer.
And although the visitors scored a late, late penalty through Oliver Finney to deny the hosts a clean sheet, it didn’t dampened the mood too much, with Kenny Jackett’s side now sitting fourth in the table.
Here’s how fans reacted to the win on Twitter.
@themartinfish: I’ll take that. Shame about dodgy pen ruining clean sheet. Curtis just beats Naylor to man of the match.
@FredsDotW: Great result for #Pompey. Killed the game off early in the 2nd half.
Shame about the clean sheet but I can never argue about a 4-1 win.
They executed a counter attacking, pressing style of football perfectly. Onto Tuesday.
@hardbackhal: Well done #pompey You're looking good.
@robert89__: Well done #Pompey great day at the office.
@pompey0: Pompey well happy with that! Roll on Tuesday! Well done to all concerned!
@SRandall_: Another great 3 points against a inform team.
Showed today in the first half how important it is to have Cannon in the middle bring on the Oxford Tuesday.
@MajorRaverMatt: Amazing how different we are with two up top. Marquis scores goals as well.
@MrDavishPFC: Shame we lost on corners today but we go again #Pompey.
@Axl_Rose1971: What’s everyone been squinnying about?
Always looked a threat going forward. Some good goals scored. Defended well. Job done. Even iFollow worked perfectly! #Pompey
@mattclementspfc: Solid team performance we were very unlucky not to keep a clean sheet the players all seemed hungry to get that ball back! Class 3 points #Pompey
