'Gotta be fuming' - Portsmouth fans debate defensive decision as John Mousinho makes changes for visit of Blackburn Rovers
Pompey have made three changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Charlton last Saturday
Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the starting XI John Mousinho has named for today’s Championship visit of Blackburn Rovers to Fratton Park.
And it’s a defensive decision the Blues boss has taken which has sparked the most debate amongst the fan base.
Amid three changes made to the side that drew at Charlton last time out, Jojo Dia has been chosen at centre-back for the visit of Tony Mowbray’s side.
The Senegal defender replaces loanee Benjy Arthur in the team, who is presumably injured and not in the match-day squad, with Regan Poole once again overlooked.
There’s also recalls for Zak Swanson and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, with Terry Devlin and Colby Bishop making way and taking up positions on the bench.
Yet it’s Arthur’s absence, along with Dia getting the nod over Poole, which is gathering most traction on X.
Here’s what fans have been saying ahead of kick-off (3pm).
@Mcarter_1987: God help us. We would've been better off with 10 men than Dia against Derby.
@Rich03832303: Weak through the middle with Dia in defence and Shien in midfield. Why is Poole not preferred over Dia and how the hell is Shien starting again!! Poor line up this one.
@Captain_Outram: I want to support the lad but Dia is no where near ready to be playing in games at this level, he should be out on loan this season.
@JackDavis10: Something more has happened with Regan Poole surely, another box of frogs game with Dia incoming, sublime moments followed by how is this guy a professional footballer.
