The Blues have now entered a hugely important January transfer window, one which will dictate whether they successfully fight against the drop for consecutive seasons.
And here are our Blues player ratings for the campaign so far…

25. Adrian Segecic - 7
(20 games, 4 goals) The energetic Australian has been a breath of fresh air and the signing of last summer for Pompey, but admittedly the bar is pretty low. Nonetheless, Segecic hit the ground running by scoring the winner at Oxford United on his debut and is currently 4-goal leading scorer, despite a four-game absence through injury. Looks far brighter in the number 10 role rather than the right wing, which perhaps explains why his form has dipped as the season has progressed. Photo: Graham Hunt

26. Callum Lang - 7
(9 games, 2 goals) A hugely frustrating 2025 was completed with Lang yet again missing through a hamstring injury. When fit, he’s a pivotal player for the Blues through his versatility, goals and work-rate, as well as being a genuine Championship performer. Worryingly, however, he continues to miss matches and earlier this season also had an operation on his problematic hamstring. At the moment, the popular attacker can’t catch a break. 27. Conor Chaplin - 5.5
(20 games, 0 goals) Without doubt, the most disappointing signing of the summer - and nobody saw that coming. Chaplin’s passion and desire to do well for Pompey can never be questioned, yet, frustratingly, it hasn’t clicked so far, despite now back in his favoured number 10 spot. With no goals and one assist, you can be absolutely sure the Ipswich loanee will be more annoyed than anyone. Photo: Graham Hunt

28. Makenzie Kirk - 5.5
Coming over from the Scottish Championship at the age of 21, Kirk was earmarked as one for the future to develop and nurture. So perhaps it is unsurprising he has yet to adjust to the Championship, with four first-team starts surely more than he could have anticipated. There was a well-taken maiden goal against Coventry, but it has been a tough ask for Kirk to lead the line as a lone forward and challenged to replicate what Bishop provides in terms of physicality. Still learning and still very raw. Photo: Graham Hunt
