Ex-Portsmouth, Dundee United and Hearts target completes switch to Hibernian

Former Pompey target Kevin Nisbet has completed a move to Hibernian.

The striker has joined the Scottish Premiership from Dunfermline for a reported fee of £250,000 and signed a four-year deal.

Nisbet enjoyed a prolific season at the Pars, scoring 23 goals in 32 appearances.

Nisbet was also said to be wanted by Dundee United, while Hearts are reported to attempted a late swoop.

The 23-year-old has opted for Easter Road, though.

Nisbet told Hibs’ website: ‘I’m proud to be a Hibernian player and I’m grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity.

‘It’s a new challenge for me and I’m confident – with the help of the staff here – that I can continue to improve as a player and help the team.

‘I’ve been working hard on my fitness during the break and I can’t wait to get going.’

Head coach Jack Ross added: ‘We’re delighted to have Kevin on board. It’s a position that we wanted to strengthen in and if you look at his profile, and where he is in his career, then I think it’s a really good fit for both parties.

‘I’m excited by it. We were keen to get him in in January so we’re all pleased to get it over the line now.’
