Fighting back from falling behind on 20 minutes, John Mousinho’s men netted through Colby Bishop, Abu Kamara and Regan Poole to seal a 3-1 success at Fratton Park.
Yet it was the manner of the performance which also impressed, with so many of Pompey’s players turning in impressive displays to clinch a much-needed victory.
Plenty of high ratings on display – and here they are...
9. Christian Saydee - 8
(Replaced by Sean Raggett on 90 minutes) Given a standing ovation when he came off, reflecting another eye-catching performance and how quickly Pompey fans have taken to him. No goals, but work-rate, energy and power caused many, many problems. Photo: Jason Brown
10. Gavin Whyte - 7
(Replaced by Paddy Lane on 68 minutes) Can lay claim to an assist for Pompey’s second goal, although it was aided by Romoney Crichlow’s misjudgement. Still, plenty of work-rate from the ex-Cardiff man before coming off with a knock, but still searching for his form since arriving at Fratton Park. Photo: Jason Brown
11. Colby Bishop - 8
Back on the scoresheet, heading home Marlon Pack’s delivery from the right and arguably his best performance of the season so far. Caused Posh constant problems, held the ball up well and, tellingly, often had to be silenced by a tug of the shirt or being held back. Photo: Jason Brown
