There’s been a stack of names linked with the Fratton Park hot seat since Cowley’s dismissal nine days ago.
But who really fits the bill and chimes with the kind of profile are looking to make?
Who are the mem who can take on the weight of expectation of delivering success at PO4.
The News has had its ear to the ground and here the information we’ve picked up over the names in the frame.
13. Luke Williams
A man who ticks many of the boxes in terms of the attributes Pompey want from the new man at the helm. Has gone about his education in the game at the likes of Brighton and Bristol City. Suffered a relegation in his first major role at Swindon, but hardly the most stable of settings to cut your managerial teeth. Knows Andy Cullen from his time as Russell Martin’s assistant at MK Dons, before following him to Swansea. Now flying in the National League at Notts County who’ve lost one game all season, delivering success with eye-catching football. Has suggested he’s happy at Meadow Lane and would cost Pompey to get him out of the club. Photo: Harry Trump
