'Can't see much progress. Amateur hour defending. Three unbeaten' - Portsmouth fans react to Blackburn Rovers result
Pompey were held to a 2-2 draw against Blackburn in their final game before the international break
Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the Blues’ 2-2 Championship draw against Blackburn Rovers at Fratton Park.
John Mousinho’s side snatched a point from their final game before the international break despite Zak Swanson giving the hosts a fourth minute lead.
Goals either side of half-time from Oladapo Afolayan (11) and Ryoya Morishita (56) looked destined to hand Tony Mowbray’s all three points.
That was until 71st-minute substitute Colby Bishop came to the Blues’ rescue with an equaliser created by Ryan Kavuma-McQueen just three minutes after his introduction.
The draw leaves Pompey 18th in the table and with plenty to ponder over the next three weeks as they take a break for the international break.
However, fans have been expressing their views now after watching their side come up short in their attempts to claim a much-wanted win before their next outing against Southampton on October 11.
Here’s what they’ve been saying...
@TheChief657: Amateur hour defending and finishing again. We keep on throwing points away like that then we are in trouble.
@archie72776: Just not good enough at all hopefully they all come back firing on all cylinders for the scum game.
@Thomas_2791: The only remotely likeable thing about this #Pompey team is a 17-year-old loanee who will be off in January. From top to bottom we have made zero progress since getting back into the Championship.
We looked pretty good in attack, all that pressure and hard work up top undone by a lackluster quality of players.
We didn’t sign a proven defender and were being punished. Let’s recall Steward.
@joerobbs: 2 points dropped against woeful opposition. With the run of games coming up after the international break, we are in serious trouble.
@PompeyArg: Today it was proven that this team can compete with practically anyone. It’s a disgrace that they can’t string together two wins against mediocre opponents.
Mousinho needs to do some serious rethinking; ambition is lacking.
@JackDavis10: 7 games in and think it’s safe to say it’s the same as previous seasons in the Champ, same sort of recruitment albeit more budget, lots of injuries and will be fully in the relegation picture probably until last two games. Can’t see much progress being made this season.
@HazzaTWood96: We get a home draw against Blackburn after going behind. Happy to see Swanson and Bishop scoring again but our defending once again lets us down but that's three unbeaten in a row, PUP.
@CanadaPompey: Another c**p home game. It's a point but that's about as good as it gets. Beilica is worse than Killip. Día is dreadful. Defending is panicked and attacking is just poor. This is gonna be another long panicked season fighting the drop.
