In a match of few scoring opportunities, the Blues trailed 1-0 to West Brom following Mickey Johnston’s stunning 25th-minute strike and rarely looked like finding a way back.
However, on 56 minutes, Josh Murphy crossed from the left and there was Bishop to level with an excellent header and a secure a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.
John Mousinho’s men were called upon to defend for long spells, but they did so superbly, led brilliantly by Regan Poole – and here are our player ratings...
5. Regan Poole - 8
Returned from injury to resume centre-half duties and was at his tigerish best. Absolutely dominant and bare put a foot wrong. Photo: Graham Hunt
6. Connor Ogilvie - 8
Mousinho’s preference for a right and left-footed centre-half partnership saw him return to the position and it was another no-nonsense display. Magnificent in the air and rugged on the ground. Photo: Graham Hunt
7. Andre Dozzell - 8
Another powerhouse performance in the centre of midfield, capped by Pompey’s third goal, after capitalising on Chaplin’s pass. Now has his own song too as his instant impact continues. Photo: Graham Hunt
8. Ebou Adams - 8
