Blackpool allow goalkeeper to depart amid interest in Portsmouth's Luke McGee

Blackpool have allowed keeper Christoffer Mafoumbi to depart amid their interest in Luke McGee.

Mafoumbi has joined League Two side Morecambe on loan for the remainder of the season.

That frees up a berth in Simon Grayson's squad, which could be filled by McGee.

The ex-Spurs stopper is a target for Pompey’s League One rivals, while he’s also been linked with a move to Bradford.

Jak Alnwick facing a up to 12 weeks on the treatment table with an arm injury.

Mark Howard has recently featured for the Seasiders, lining up in last night’s 2-0 FA Cup elimination at the hands of Reading, while youngster Jack Sims is also on their books.

McGee has been in cold for more than a year at Pompey, not playing a first-team game since December 2018.

The 24-year-old is behind Craig MacGillivray and Alex Bass in the pecking order at Fratton Park and is desperate for regular action.

He’s been given the green light by Kenny Jackett to depart and was close to joining Cheltenham last week.

McGee moved Pompey from Tottenham for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2017 and has 55 appearances in total.
