Ben Stevenson’s unfortunate own goal separated the sides in a match the Blues struggled to really test the goalkeeper of their League Two opponents.
Having rattled in nine in the previous pre-season fixture against Crawley, it represented a frustratingly evening in many ways, albeit with the inevitable focus on fitness.
Here are our Pompey player ratings from the Plough Lane fixture...

9. Abu Kamara - 6
Initially on the right wing, yet later in the first half switched to a number 10 role to show his versatility. Conjured up a lovely turn on the edge of the box to win a second-half free-kick. Definite pace and some glimpses of quality, but still finding his feet. Photo: Jason Brown

10. Anthony Scully - 6
(Replaced by Paddy Lane on 69 minutes) Saw one attempt saved on 63 minutes following good work from Saydee, yet otherwise a disappointingly quiet performance from the architect of Crawley’s destruction. Will be a key player this season with his potential for goals and assists. Photo: Jason Brown

11. Christian Saydee - 7 - Man of the Match
(Replaced by Terry Devlin on 69 minutes) The striker demonstrated his immense power in the first half when Armani Little had to rugby tackle him, moments after a team-mate pulled his shirt. Praised by Mousinho afterwards and it’s going to be fun watching his development over the season. Photo: Jason Brown

12. Josh Oluwayemi - 7
(Replaced Will Norris on 45 minutes) Did well to block Sasu’s attempt at the near post as he burst through and produced another couple of good takes. With another keeper impending, could his last pre-season outing. Photo: Jason Brown
