'Amazing signing' - Portsmouth fans react to Josh Murphy's arrival at Fratton Park

The news of Pompey’s second summer transfer signing arrived last night when the Blues confirmed the capture of promotion winning-winger Josh Murphy.

The 29-year-old joins Fratton Park on a free transfer, having rejected Oxford United’s attempts to keep hold of him longer, and has signed on a three-year deal, with a club option for an additional 12 months.

Murphy now marks the second arrival at the club this window following the signing of former Barnsley star Jordan Williams and the Blues’ fans are now hugely excited for what next year’s Championship squad could produce as it begins to take shape.

For many fans, it didn’t matter that the news broke at 11pm on Tuesday night. Those who had watched England draw 0-0 with Slovenia were in much need of some joy.
