The Blues appeared to be set for a point when Colby Bishop finished Josh Murphy’s corner in the 83rd minute to cancel out Ryan Porteous’ opener.
However, with three minutes remaining, a ball over the top caused havoc as Connor Ogilvie and Nicolas Schmid didn’t communicate clearly and Stefan Thordarson capitalised to finish superbly from a tight out.
The 2-1 defeats marks successive losses for John Mousinho’s men, who now head into the international break still in 17th spot, but with others catching up. And here are our Pompey player ratings...

5. Cohen Bramall - 9 - MOM
Handed his first Pompey start following some encouraging cameos off the bench and continued to really catch the eye. Pace and directness saw him drive down the left flank from full-back and he can really stand up a cross. While struck the bar/post on 67 minutes with a fantastic effort. Fans have a new hero. 6. Andre Dozzell - 7
(Replaced by Marlon Pack on 90 mins) Another hard-working display from the midfielder, yet always capable of finding an attacking pass. Has developed crucial consistency to his game this season. Photo: Jason Brown

7. Freddie Potts - 7
Lovely composure about his play and in the first half, especially, looked as though he had all the time in the world. Won a fair few fouls as well in the thick of the battle. Photo: Graham Hunt

8. Josh Murphy - 5
Not at it, sadly. Overshadowed by Bramall in terms of effectiveness down the left flank, while his own delivery was often overhit and far too deep. Doesn’t have bad days often, but this was one. Having said that, put the corner in from the left for Bishop's leveller. Replaced by an imposter. Photo: Matt McNulty/Getty Images
