Many Pompey fans are curently in the process of renewing their Fratton Park season tickets ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
And according to chief executive Andy Cullen, the club are well on track to reach the 15,000 sales figure cap they have set, with 5,000 renewals confirmed last week.
In these modern times, fans can log onto their accounts and reserve their seats for the season online. It’s very simple.
However, back in the day, a trip to PO4 itself was required, along with the prospect of navigating a long queue to the ticket office.
That would have been the last thing you’d want to do on a day like today, as Portsmouth basks in 29-degree Bank Holiday Monday sunshine.
However, given the Fratton faithful’s loyalty, it would have been done, with a Fratton Park season ticket one of the hottest in town.
Here, were look back at some of the pictures we found in The News’ picture archive of supporters waiting patiently in line to get their hands on a season ticket.
See if you can spot anyone you might recognise.
