Pompey complete striker swoop

The 24-year-old has arrived from Swindon Town on a 93-day loan – and goes straight into Paul Cook’s squad for Morecambe.

The towering striker has been a long-time target for Cook and today the Blues were finally able to add him to their strikeforce.

Smith scored 18 goals as the Robins reached the League One play-offs last season.

However, he failed to net during a recent loan spell at Barnsley.

Pompey face Morecambe tomorrow night (7.45pm), the fixture representing one of their games in hand.

Earlier, Paul Jones completed a one month loan move to Crawley.
