In Pictures: Appleton's Pompey Class of 2012
Jackett's Juniors are veterans in comparison to the Pompey Pups rolled out for a Capital One Cup tie at Plymouth Argyle in August 2012.
During the dark days before the fans saved the club, Blues boss Michael Appleton named a starting line-up with an average age of just 19.9.

Assistant manager Ashley Westwood skippered the side and there were debuts for man-of-the-match Jed Wallace, Alex Grant, Dan Butler, Sam Magri, George Colson, Andy Higgins and Dan Thompson.
Adam Webster and Ashley Harris had already featured for the first team, while non-contract keeper Simon Eastwood was between the sticks.
