The 21.35 time was her third course best of the year and in total she has taken 23 seconds off since January 1.

With a few flakes of snow in the air it certainly made for a chilly morning.

But that didn’t stop 259 people taking part in the 246th Havant parkrun with the volunteers also braving the February freeze and supporting the runners as they negotiated the 5k course.

Winchester’s Graham Bungay finished first with his time of 18min 47sec.

He kicked on after completing the first big loop of the course and managed to power away with a strong run.

It was his first appearance at Havant parkrun and he has a PB of 17.50 at Southampton parkrun.

City of Portsmouth runner Tom Hoskinson finished second with a time of 19.28.

He looked comfortable around the course.

His PB is 19.10 and looks on track to soon be achieving a sub 19-minute time for the event at Staunton Country Park.

His younger brother Daniel is also a regular at the Havant event.

He completed his 38th parkrun.

Rachel Muckelt, another talented City of Portsmouth athlete, had a good run.

She recorded a personal best time of 23.36.

Katy Bater finished second lady and was another runner to take advantage of fairly good conditions on the trail under foot, certainly for winter, with a strong time of 23.02.

Her previous best at Havant was 25.41 so she is making strong progress.
