Are you looking for a change in direction? A sense of purpose? A career that will change lives, including your own? Portsmouth-based fostering charity, Fair Ways, is calling for more foster carers during Foster Care Fortnight.

During Foster Care Fortnight a local charity is highlighting the benefits of foster caring, to the child, the carer and the wider community, as it calls for more adults to come forward to look after local children.

Is it right for me?

Fostering is one of the most rewarding carers you can choose, it not only makes a positive difference to the children you look after, but also enriches your life in ways you never imagined.

If you believe that all children deserve a safe and loving home and would like the chance to give some of society’s most vulnerable children a second chance and a brighter future, then we believe fostering is for you.

Are all agencies the same?

Choosing an agency to foster with is one of the most important points to consider when starting your fostering journey. Fair Ways is your there to help you every step of the way.

Fair Ways fostering is rated as “Good” by Ofsted. The charity is recognised for the high levels of support it offers to its foster carers and the young people in its care.

Much of this support comes from Fair Ways’ experienced and knowledgeable team who accompany carers every step of the way, guiding and advising whenever they are needed.

Fair Ways also offer therapeutic support from its Hub service, which consists of a team of clinical practitioners who can offer care to young people and carers.

A spokesperson said: “We believe our carers deserve the best training and development opportunities during their career.

“We provide a range of in-person and online training including a new accredited trauma informed training course called Riise which has received amazing reviews from our staff and foster carers.

“Fair Ways understand and put high value on the role foster carers play in providing safe and loving homes for children, so will always treat our carers as professionals and listen to their opinions and ideas.

“As highly skilled professionals our carers are paid a competitive allowance with the earning potential of £715 a week per child in their care.

“Finally, as Fair Ways Fostering is a charity agency, rest assured you will be looked after by a team who strive to do what's best for you and the young people in your care.”
