After 45 years in the lettings industry between them, Samantha Dean and Jenna Wetherell are running a new independent agency, and are already reporting a success story.

Two Portsmouth lettings experts have taken on the challenge of building an independent property business from the ground up.

Samantha Dean and Jenna Wetherell are directors of Lets Go Lettings, the new Southsea-based agency that has already secured instructions on more than 200 properties – largely through referrals and word of mouth, before any major marketing campaign has even got going.

Between them, Samantha and Jenna bring an impressive 45 years of hands-on lettings experience to the fledgling business.

Meet the directors

Samantha, the company’s Lettings Director, has spent more than 25 years in the industry. Jenna, Operations Director, has almost 20 years’ experience specialising in residential property management, compliance and the smooth running of busy portfolios.

Remarkably, both women spent their entire lettings careers with the same large corporate agency before taking the bold decision to leave and help create something very different.

For Samantha, that means putting personal relationships at the heart of the business.

With decades of experience managing a successful lettings operation, she has built her reputation on honesty, trust and treating every property as though it were her own.

“Letting a property shouldn’t be complicated” is the philosophy behind her approach – with clients promised straightforward advice, clear communication and access to real people rather than call centres, jargon or being passed from one department to another.

Jenna brings a similarly practical approach to the operational side of the business. Her expertise spans tenant relations, landlord support, tenancy compliance and meticulous administration, with a particular focus on ensuring documentation, processes and records meet the latest legal and regulatory requirements.

Together, they form the engine room of Lets Go Lettings.

Solid foundations

The agency was founded by local property owners Nick Rowe and Antony Lane, bringing together their hands-on experience of owning, refurbishing and managing property with Samantha and Jenna's decades of professional lettings expertise.

The result is an agency deliberately built around service, communication and transparency.

That even extends to maintenance. Lets Go Lettings does not add a percentage or mark-up to landlords’ maintenance bills – landlords pay the direct cost of the work.

The growing team also includes Tayla Cobb, with another Lettings Coordinator recruited and due to join as the portfolio expands.

New office and a presence across the city

From its new office at 73 Fawcett Road, Southsea, the business is now making its presence felt across Portsmouth, with property boards beginning to appear on streets around the city. Its website and social media channels are also live.

The agency manages everything from traditional residential buy-to-let properties to professional shared housing and co-living accommodation.

For Samantha and Jenna, however, the biggest change is perhaps the simplest one: after decades working within a corporate structure, they now have the opportunity to build an agency around the values they believe lettings should stand for.
