The fantastic A Level results at Havant continue to prove why HSDC is a leading FE College, with nearly 50% of its students achieving the top grades of A*-B.

The range of A Levels on offer at Havant means students’ goals are always within reach, whether that’s a degree at Oxbridge, a prestigious Apprenticeship, internship or directly entering the workforce.

Dylan Warner, who achieved ABB in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at Havant and is currently studying Medicine at Anglia Ruskin University, praise the college.

My teachers at Havant were especially helpful and really supported me every step of the way! Meeting new and like-minded people has also been a real highlight of my time here.

Vocational and technical excellence

For those seeking an alternative to A Levels, the South Downs Campus is a first- choice centre for Vocational and Technical Excellence. Students at South Downs can enrol on a variety of courses, including Extended Diplomas, T Levels and Apprenticeships.

The courses offered at South Downs have been developed in collaboration with local and national employers, ensuring that students leave College equipped with the necessary knowledge to succeed in the modern workplace.

These links with thousands of businesses are strengthened by industry placements and work experience, allowing HSDC students to have hands-on learning as well as rigorous classroom study.

From Engineering to Hospitality, Musical Theatre to Business, South Downs is the perfect place to prepare for the world of work.

A recent DfE report named HSDC as the number one provider of T Levels in the region with an incredible 100% pass rate across the board, and our 98% pass rate in other vocational areas (with more than 70% achieving Merits or above), is a further testament to the excellent vocational and technical education you can expect at South Downs.

Macey Jenks achieved a Distinction in Musical Theatre during her time at South Downs, and is currently continuing these studies at the University of Chichester.

Macey said: “Being able to study something that I love whilst achieving a qualification has also been a great part of coming here. Trust the process, and know that at South Downs, the teachers will be there to support you every step of the way.”

Investment in facilities

Both campuses are also the regular recipients of substantial capital investment, ensuring our students are always provided with cutting-edge technology and facilities. An investment from the South Coast Institute of Technology (IoT) worth over £2.6 million was recently used to renovate South Downs’ engineering facilities to allow the College to join the IoT, whilst Havant’s new F Block was built thanks to £3.5 million from the Post-16 Capacity Fund.

These investments, coupled with a fantastic extracurricular programme and world-class in-house careers advisors, means that students at Havant and South Downs are put in the best possible position to achieve their goals.
