Shakin' Stevens makes Paulsgrove boy's dream come true in 1983

Shakin' Stevens superfan Robert McGinn, from Paulsgrove, shook with joy when he came face-to-face with his idol.Â

For rocking Shaky had minutes to spare before he leapt on stage for his sell-out concert at Portsmouth Guildhall.

It was a second chance for six-year-old Robert, who has spina bifida (a birth defect where the spine doesn't develop properly), to meet the star.

In 1982, Robert was invited to the Central TV studios in Birmingham to be a guest on ITV's The Saturday Show. But the long journey was too much for him, so The News fixed him up with another opportunity.

Robert was overjoyed. He showed Shaky a set of his favourite posters and was also given a signed picture by the man himself.
