Sainsbury’s is offering 25% off selected Taste the Difference wines when Nectar shoppers buy three or more – and some of the bottles have won praise from leading wine critics.
A £10 bottle of Prosecco dropping to £7.50 is the sort of supermarket wine deal worth paying attention to – particularly when independent wine experts have already given it their backing.
Sainsbury’s has launched a new Nectar promotion giving shoppers 25% off selected Taste the Difference wines when they buy any three or more bottles from the offer.
It runs until October 13, giving shoppers a chance to stock up for less as autumn entertaining – and the inevitable early Christmas preparations – get underway.
The prices displayed by Sainsbury’s are before the saving. Add any three or more qualifying bottles to your trolley with a Nectar card attached to your account and the 25% multibuy price kicks in.
And rather than simply picking the cheapest wines we could find, we’ve searched out bottles in the promotion that have also caught the attention of respected independent wine writers.
Here are five worth knowing about.
Taste the Difference Conegliano Prosecco – offer price £7.50
This could be one of the standout buys in the whole promotion.
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Conegliano Prosecco normally costs £10, but drops to £7.50 per bottle when bought as part of the Nectar offer.
And this is not simply a case of cheap fizz.
Decanter picked it as its “sparkling save” when assessing Sainsbury’s wines, also pointing to its DOCG status – the higher classification for Prosecco produced in the prestigious Conegliano Valdobbiadene area.
At £7.50 in the deal, it looks a particularly tempting bottle for parties, celebrations or simply getting ahead on festive fizz.

Taste the Difference Crémant de Loire – offer price £9.38
Fancy something a little different from Prosecco without paying Champagne prices?
Sainsbury’s Crémant de Loire normally costs £12.50, but buying it as part of the offer brings the price down to £9.38 a bottle.
That is especially interesting because Decanter awarded it 88 points after tasting it in May 2026, highlighting its freshness alongside pear, citrus and apple flavours.
The Guardian wine writer Hannah Crosbie has also recommended the Crémant as an affordable sparkling option.
At less than £10 in the promotion, this is one bottle that could easily be overlooked next to the better-known Prosecco names.
Taste the Difference Île-de-Beauté rosé – offer price £7.88
Summer may be disappearing fast, but there is no rule saying the rosé has to go with it.
This Corsican Taste the Difference bottle normally costs £10.50 and falls to £7.88 with the Nectar saving.
It comes with serious independent backing too. The Independent included it in its guide to the best supermarket rosés in August 2026, highlighting flavours including redcurrant, cherry, grapefruit and Mediterranean herbs.
An earlier vintage also scored 89 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Taste the Difference Sicilian Nero d’Avola – offer price £6.56
There are bargains among the reds too.
Sainsbury’s Sicilian Nero d’Avola is normally £8.75, meaning its offer price works out at just £6.56.
The Guardian’s David Williams previously picked the wine among six Mediterranean bottles worth seeking out, highlighting its ripe plum and cherry character and subtle spice.
For little more than £6.50 in the promotion, it is an intriguing option for autumn pasta dishes, pizza or a weekend roast.
Taste the Difference Soave Classico – offer price £6.56
White wine drinkers can find the same £6.56 offer price on Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Soave Classico, normally £8.75.
The Independent has previously included the Italian white among its best supermarket wines under £15.
Made in the hills around Soave in northern Italy, it offers an alternative for shoppers who automatically reach for Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio.
The promotion runs from September 23 to October 13, 2026. To get the saving, shoppers must buy any three or more qualifying products and have a Nectar card added to their account. The 25% multibuy saving is then applied to the wines included in the offer.
