As a vegetarian, this is the 3 course meal I'm treating myself to with Sainsbury's Taste the Difference deal

Sainsbury's is offering Nectar customers 25% off more than 600 Taste the Difference products, and I've used the deal to create an indulgent three-course vegetarian dinner.
As a vegetarian, I can sometimes find supermarket deals a little hit and miss as there’s often very limited options. But Sainsbury's current Taste the Difference promotion has caught my eye because there are plenty of vegetarian-friendly options included, and I've managed to put together what I'd consider to be a delicious three-course dinner from the range.
Sainsbury's is currently giving Nectar customers 25% off more than 600 Taste the Difference products, with the promotion running until Tuesday October 6. So, if you're looking for a cosy autumn dinner that feels a little more special than an average weeknight meal with little effort, this would be my pick.
I'd start with the Leek, Potato & Barber's Cheddar Soup, which is currently £2.25 with Nectar, down from £3. It's a classic combination of leek, potato and mature Cheddar, with garlic, cream and chopped herbs added to the mix. The 600g pot serves two, so it's a particularly easy starter if you're cooking for yourself and one other person. It's also exactly the sort of warming, comforting dish I'd want at this time of year, without having to make a soup from scratch.
For the main course, I'd go for the Butternut Squash & Sage Ravioli. The 250g pack is £2.60 with Nectar rather than £3.50 and also serves two, with free-range egg pasta filled with butternut squash, mascarpone and sage.
I'd pair the ravioli with the Four Cheese Sauce, which is another Taste the Difference product reduced by 25%, from £3.25 to £2.43 with Nectar. It's made with Cheddar, soft cheese, Grana Padano, Pecorino and mascarpone, so it's about as indulgent as a ready-made pasta sauce gets. The pot again serves two, making it a very easy way to turn the ravioli into a much more luxurious main course.
I'd add the Ultimate Garlic & Mozzarella Flatbread because pasta and garlic bread is one of those classic food combos that just has to be honoured, in my opinion. It's currently £2.62 with Nectar instead of £3.50, and is topped with mozzarella, provolone, Regato and mature Cheddar alongside garlic. There’s plenty for two people to share.
So yes, this is quite a lot of cheese. But if I'm treating myself to a three-course dinner, it’s all about cheese for me.
Finally, dessert has to be chocolate for me. The Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream is currently £2.62 with Nectar, reduced from £3.50. It's made with Belgian dark chocolate and West Country double cream, and the 480ml tub contains approximately five servings. A couple of scoops after the ravioli would finish the meal nicely, although I wouldn't blame anyone for making the portions considerably more generous.
So, with a little thought, you can use the Taste the Difference range to put together a full vegetarian meal that feels much more indulgent than the price suggests, especially with 25% off currently.
- The offer is available until October 6, with Nectar required to access the discounted prices. Products are subject to availability.
