A 200mph McLaren supercar fitted with carbon fibre bucket seats and distinctive top-exit exhausts is being offered as a competition prize alongside £5,000 in cash - and entries start at just 5p.
The 2019 McLaren 600LT Spider competition is due to be drawn by Elite Competitions, live at 9pm on Friday, 3 July, 2026, and the winner can take the black convertible and accompanying cash or choose a £100,000 cash alternative instead.
The distinctive supercar has covered 23,600 miles and is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 591bhp. It can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 201mph with the roof raised. Power is sent through a seven-speed automatic gearbox, while launch and track driving modes are included among the car’s performance settings.
The Longtail model was developed as a lighter and more focused version of McLaren’s Sports Series supercar. Its carbon fibre structure allowed the manufacturer to create a convertible without adding the heavy strengthening usually needed when the roof is removed.
This particular 2019 McLaren competition car has been covered in full satin black paint protection film and sits on 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels. Yellow brake callipers provide a bright contrast and sit over carbon ceramic brake discs.
Gunmetal grey trim also features outside, while the car’s top-mounted exhausts emerge behind the cabin. This unusual layout is one of the 600LT’s most recognisable features and puts the engine note immediately behind the driver and passenger when the retractable roof is lowered.
The cabin continues the black and yellow theme with yellow seatbelts, Alcantara trim and carbon fibre bucket seats. Its full carbon interior package includes a carbon fibre centre console and steering wheel.
Despite the track-focused specification, the McLaren 600LT Spider still has equipment intended to make road use more manageable. The listing includes dual-zone climate control, phone connectivity, touchscreen infotainment, parking sensors and a reversing camera.
A front axle lift system can also raise the nose when approaching steep driveways or speed humps, where the car’s low bodywork might otherwise be at risk.
Standard entries for the Elite Competitions prize draw cost 5p each, although bundle discounts reduce the price per ticket for larger purchases. A pack of at least 300 entries costs £13.50 after a 10% saving, while 1,500 or more cost £56.25 after a 25% reduction. The largest advertised offer provides at least 3,000 entries for £90, representing a 40% saving.
