The Eufy Omni C28 promises flagship robot vacuum tech for mid-range money – and with £150 off, it’s an impressive all-rounder
Eufy is a company that's always had a habit of taking top-tier tech and making it affordable. And its latest launch is no exception.
It's the Omni C28 Robot Vacuum, and the big news is its self-cleaning robot mop.
For a while now, flagship robot vacuums have been sporting some mildly effective rotating mop heads, but times they are a-changing. And the rotating mop is now all the rage.
The trouble has been that flagship robot vacuums have quite often come in at a four-figure sum, which rules out normal people with normal budgets. And this is where Eufy steps in.
This new C28 has a roller, but costs £649. And that's only if you miss a special offer, which brings the price down to £499.

It's mid-range money for a flagship performer, then, right? Sort of. It comes extremely close, in fact.
It has 15,000Pa of suction, which is very impressive. It has a five-in-one base station that empties waste, collects waste water, and washes and dries the mop.
It even has a clever detangling brush that prevents pet hair from clogging, and two rotating brushes to sweep in dust as it vacuums.
The only limitations are fairly superficial beyond that, and completely forgivable given the price of the robot.
Firstly, the rotating mop is brilliant. It's forced on to the surface with 1kg of pressure, and it's being constantly self-cleaned from an on-board clean water and dirty water tank system. It also has a scraper, to ensure there aren't any chunks sticking to it.

All well and good, then, but unfortunately it doesn't extend like some seriously expensive robot vacuums do. This means that it can miss edges and tight spaces - although the sort-of-square shape of the vacuum does compensate somewhat.
It also has a trick obstacle avoidance system, and it's great for avoiding toys and random bits of clutter, but it's less effective with smaller stuff. And if you're house-training a puppy, that could be a nightmare.
There are lots of other things to like, though. It's got quite a compact base unit, for a robot vacuum with so many features. It's fairly quiet, and Eufy's app is one of the best in the business. There's even a mulit-floor setting for people who have time to carry their robot up a flight of stairs.
I've lived with plenty of Eufy robot vacuums, including some of the flagships, and they all impress me for different reasons. But the C28 is a superb all-rounder, and if you can catch the deal on either Amazon or Eufy's website, you'll save £150. It's quite the bargain.
